At long last I am back in the saddle!
Roe asked me a day or so ago if I could take Reyer and her geocaching, and I was all “Yeah that’s cool”. They wanted me to take them somewhere easy, yet out in the forest. After pondering I recalled that my husband had gone caching with my father while I was on deployment and asked him. Off to the Aiea Loop Trail we went!
Cache Across America – Hawaii (2/2)
So this one was actually the third cache along the trail…
Now see, this caching adventure served a dual purpose besides taking the girls geocaching, it also gave me an opportunity to see how feasible dropping a “real” GPS would be, and going 100% android app.
Well turns out it has a learning curve, HA. The first two caches we blew by as I wasn’t really giving the app time to zero in on our location. After I realized this at the third cache, it was a snap.
Roe and I went tearing off into the trees at GZ and after a roughly 4~6 min search I zero’d in on the cache:



After that we continued onwards, but never did get another cache further down the line. We turned back after a bit, determined to get the two that we missed at the beginning. But first, pictures!
